I have to say that I don't fully get this but I'm trying to.
There's a cartoon that was published by the Daily Mail, which depicts rats as Muslims, among Muslim refugees.

The way I read this was that the rats represented the terrorists, until I saw the Kalishnakov rifle outline. That dude shouldn't be coming in, right?
But it took this comment in the same site for me to focus on what I should be looking at.
Yes, we see the refugees out in the open and the threats are hidden but, the rats? Does this mean that the refugees are coming in with the rats? Or is saying that they're no different from the rats?
The Huffington Post has a write up about this, about how it stirred up a lot of controversy online.
Especially about how it compares to the racist anti-Jewish cartoons of the 1930s with the Muslim refugees coming from war torn countries.
For me, the image's intent is accurately muddied up because we don't know what to think about who's coming into our communities, since this is now the kind of sentiment being generated by right wing politicians here in the states.
But the fucking rats?
