I imagine when you first heard about that incident where FOXNEWS said there was a war on Christmas, you probably did a double-take?

I don't remember anytime before that, that "Christians" were trying to take down Atheists, with their failed logic.

Perhaps I had just crossed that threshold where I finally accepted my Atheism in its entirety and declared it loudly that I took notice of their pathetic attacks.

One of the blogs in our network Survival Journalism has an account on Yabberz where they troll other people and write posts.

It's a political forum so it was weird to see a post there that was only about how Atheists are hypocrites against "Christians".

It was a post with tons of holes in it, so we responded to it, doing it the only way we know how; by taking it apart line by line.

Before we show that post however, here's the writer's comment on our post.

It is sad that you mistook much of what I said and added your opinion as if it were mine. I could defend much of what you misinterpret about me and it is odd you missed my whole point while many others got it. I do not hate you but maybe you carry hate in your heart as that whole hateful slam against me personally. If you are of a different religion then I do not care and if you are a good person I would invite you in my home or to dinner.

I have friends of many faiths including Muslim and they would not agree with you that I hate other religions. That is a flat out lie about me. Both my sons fought in Iraq/Afg. One is still in the air force.

My home was shot up when he returned and the mayor called it terrorism. Just because some fanatic went loco did not turn me against all Muslims and we have America terrorist too.

I have God in my soul that allows me to overlook the radicals of any religion or non religion. My father was a atheist and I did not turn away from him because of it. I prayed for him. Sadly your post is not me at all and I am glad I am free in American to my religions and views. I feel actually feel sorry for you spreading so many lies about me says something about you IMO SMH."

So, the while they're busy establishing certain rather weak points, they're still feeling it necessary to pray for people who are Atheists as if they were doing something wrong by being that.

We strongly recommend you get an account on their site if you're into political topics and would like to burn through a few keyboards.

War on Christmas brought by Atheist
Image that was posted with the original post on Yabberz. Don't know who to give credit to for the image.

Okay. I just read this post about some heated discussion about atheists and Christmas that I feel I need to tackle, so allow me to pull it apart line-by-line. Because when you type/write something, you're saying everything that's on the screen/paper and obviously, not anything that isn't. So, even if you won't allow me, you don't have a choice.

"As a Christian I celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ birthday, Dec. 25. Christinas like the Christmas."
I'm with what Survival Journalism wrote on here recently, where they said that there are no such things as Christians, at least, not since the original Christians were alive. There have been so many changes since then that anyone calling themselves a Christian today, are only claiming to a bastardization of it. It's nothing more than an out of control book club.

The next thing I want to say from the line I'm quoting, from the post this post is about is the idea that Christmas is still celebrates as the birth of their savior, all of which is disputable because there's no evidence to show that any of that's true other than the fact that everyone celebrates it because we have no choice.

It's either you get the deals or spend some money to get a gift, the tree or the ugly sweater, or be left out as the outcast. If you're not into it, then it's no fun, which is really what it all comes down to.

"This started with my previous topic on why a retailers stopped putting up Christmas decorations but still expect big profits from Christmas sales. This is very personal to me as I see our Christmas holiday being hijacked by Atheist."

They expect big profits for the same reason I established before because someone needs a gift card or a buzzsaw, not because they have Christmas decorations up. While that's nice and it attracts people to it, it does so because it's colorful and bright, period.

But this idea that the holiday is being hijacked by Atheists says something terrible about that person.
1. They hate Atheists
2. They think they're right in their beliefs and everyone else is wrong.
3. They probably hate Muslims.
4. They're obviously not comfortable in a secular world.
5a. If they had a choice, they'd force everyone to believe in Jesus.
5b. They're no better than ISIS.

"Stores are now so PC and afraid to use the word Christmas."

Maybe the person(s) who don't want to use the word Christmas have finally seen the fraud that Christmas is?

Maybe they finally realized there's no evidence to show that Jesus was either born then, ever existed, they should worship some dude who was like everyone else and that he ever even existed and was just doing it because everyone told him to?

Because here's the deal, a couple of thousand years might have passed since anyone alive was even around to confirm anything in that dumb book everyone strangles each other over.

Watch how I take the war on Christmas, put together with James Cameron to make a point about Atheism!
If anyone needed to verify anything for the Terminator storyline, you can still go to James Cameron as the source and you can't do that with the bible! [image by Broddi Sigurðarson via Flickr is under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 Generic (CC BY-SA 2.0) License]

Actually, I'm pretty sure they did pass.

It's like this joke I make where people were trying to come up with why they needed an aging Ahnold in the last Terminator movie.

Funny thing about that is they went to the creator of the characters, the originator of the story, James Cameron and asked him.

That's when he told them it makes sense because if the terminator isn't able to complete their mission, they can mix in with everyone else and age along with them so no one would suspect anything.

Now, the more I think about that, the more it makes sense!

You can't do that with the bible!

Once James Cameron leaves this mortal coil, get ready for chaos!

Also, if they're saying that things are so PC these days, they're probably one of those Republicans who are sick of feeling bad for dropping N-bombs and want a "Christian" world where they can do that again.
But let's move on.

"Christians are the biggest purchasers in preparation of Dec. 25. Celebrations. Happy Holidays is ok but not the same by any means. Stores are not Gov. run so stop acting like Christmas is taboo and then base the yearly bottom line off of Christmas sales!"

So I split the day in half where the first part of it I was telling everyone I'm a Christian and the second half of it, I was a Hindu and I went shopping all day.

Doesn't mean I'm either one of those things because again, go back to where I quoted someone who said Christian's don't exist.

So there's no proof that says people who claim to be "Christians" are the biggest buyers of stuff to prepare for the holidays because, I can bet you there's some Atheist out there who runs a company that likes to decorate for parties and buys stuff for the holidays by the bulk.

But they're going back to that thing about Christmas being taboo.

Gladly, thanks to the internet, people have figured out that Religion is a crock of crap and are able to separate having a good time with having to set up a nativity scene, one is easier to do than the other. Guess which one that is!

And yes, the yearly bottom line is about sales, especially over Christmas!

That's why businesses have quarterly reports that tell them about the low-tide against the high-tide. I can bet you Jesus' nailed heel-bone that they prefer the high-tide. Why don't you run a business and find out which one you like the most?

Alright, what else we got here...

"If others Celebrate Ramadan, Hunnika or other dates I would not be offended to see wrapping paper, sales ads, cards etc that celebrate their religious holiday. The Jewish community is now seen more and more on TV and in stores and no one objects. Why are Atheist so offended by Christians? Seems hypocritical to me."

So let me unwrap this one for you, very neatly as to not tear the paper.

Ramadan, Hanukkah and whatever else you want to throw up here; you're already beginning to show your ignorance about Religions, which is (not so) interesting because, here you are drumming up charges against Atheists and yet, you know nothing about any religion outside of yours?

Actually, doesn't read like you even know anything about your own which means you've probably learned a little something while reading this.

The difference between those religions you referred to and yours is that they're more fun, something Atheists are into?

That's why people are so not against them.

These "Christian" types though, like to be really bossy and boring. Weekly pilgrimages to the local Golden Corral after service isn't as fun as the pilgrimages those others have.

In comparison, they're actually healthier too.

Okay, what else?

"Until today I knew very little about Atheist only that they did not believe in God. I do not agree but I am not going to tell them they are wrong because I am not responsible to them. If they want to howl at the moon it is not my business."

Really? You only learned about Atheism today huh? And yet here you are, trying to knock them down like a pro.

And yes, you clearly don't agree and still, you get to the point here in your quote to proclaim the obvious and you are telling them they are wrong.

But this is the way it's always been where the believers have had the monopoly to control other people through indoctrination.

Don't go down that road because there are devils there.

Don't talk back to me because you're going to hell.

Don't question authority because you're sinning.

What are you afraid of the most? Okay, if you don't follow me, that scary thing is gonna happen to you.

That's what religion is and what you practice, indoctrination.

And at the end of the quote, you decide to take another swing at Atheists by saying that those who don't believe in god are pretty much howling at the moon because, they don't have anything else.

But that's how religion started, by groups of people howling at the moon before one of them claimed they owned it or were the only ones who were allowed to howl at it.

I'm going to hedge my bets here to say that you've probably bought into the idea that you're not allowed to howl at it?

Alright, looks like I'm at the end of chopping down your false logic here. What else we got...

"Now on Yabberz some tried to tell me that Dec 25 is Solstice. My google searches did not come up with Dec. 25 but did say "some" Celebrate the month of Winter Solstice."
Do Atheists celebrate Winter solstice?
A nice Winter solstice image perfect to represent James George Frazer's 'The Golden Bough'. [Image by Caroline via Flickr is under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Generic (CC BY 2.0) License]

Um... you want to know about the Solstice, go to the library, bookstore or Amazon and get you a copy of The Golden Bough by James George Frazer. It's much better than the bible and unlike the bible, the information in it is more useful.

You know what, just go to Gutenberg and download the book for free. You shouldn't have to buy it. Oh, and if anyone asks, just tell them an Atheist sent you there.

"How about everyone celebrate their beliefs while not stepping on the rights of others."

Yeah, how about that right? You could start with your friend Kim Davis.

By the way, this whole "eye for an eye" thing is getting pretty dumb. Just because you can believe what you want, doesn't mean that you can force other people to believe in something that isn't there, like a dude in the sky who might smote thee but never does.

It's funny how everything is going to happen after we're dead so we have to live a life of submission -- of which we only have one of -- in order to get a reward?

Also, don't you think it's a bit selfish of your religion to only believe those things because you'll be rewarded?

That's why Atheism is important because you don't need to get Jesus shoved down your throat to be good to other people. It's far better to face the truth and go through the existential fear of accepting your mortality in order to fully enjoy what you have.

"And let me add that yes, Christmas is more then gifts but giving gifts along with giving to children in the hospital, giving to Senior Citizens in a facility or homebound, giving to Food Banks or packing up food boxes for homeless, sending boxes our troops are all done in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ by Christians."

No, actually to sum all this up, Christmas is just about getting and giving gifts, drinking winter ale, hanging out with friends and family if you don't see them all the time.

Going to hospitals and visiting senior citizens might be okay if it wasn't mostly creepy. What are you going to do, bring your god with you?

Of course! That's how you spread "Christianity" by forcing your beliefs on people who are too vulnerable to have a choice!

Food banks caring for the homeless, we're already doing that with the programs we pay taxes for.

Also, a special throw in here; all of those troops are out there because that's where they wanted to go. I don't believe they need any more help and refuse to support troops who made a bad choice to begin with.

And I'm not going to help a church who makes money by the amount of people they can fit onto their building so they can shake them out of some change for the collection plate.

It's not enough that church leaders get to swindle their way out of paying taxes, they need more money to keep? I'm not going to go spread this Jesus crap to other people, a guy that never existed and even if they did, it's still a dude. Now I gotta go around and tell people about this other dude?

Just go look at the size of some of these churches out there. It should be a clear indication of the size of their lie.

Obviously there's a war on Christmas, against Atheist.
See this big ole church? How is this not indoctrination? No seriously, step on up and I'll take you down a notch too! [image by Idibri via Flickr is under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Generic (CC BY 2.0) License]
"Merry Christmas and God Bless you and yours! And I am not sorry if you are offended as that was not my intent. My intent was to share good from my heart to you in keeping with my faith. For this I will never be ashamed or embarrassed."

The first line of this quote is just another way to curse the rest of is.

It's not offensive that you believe in that garbage but you should be ashamed of yourself for trying to force it on other people.

And when you tell us what your intent is, you say it's good from your heart as long as it's with in your faith? That's pretty rich and again, a sign on more indoctrination.

If you're not ashamed or embarrassed then you're no better than the worst person out there.

So there it is, line-by-line.

I'm going to say that this should become scripture. Maybe we will put make it part of our book, or when we start our own religion or something?
