The crazy, sick and surreal world of the blog
Something is wrong. You ever get that feeling of impending doom? Something menacing is right around the corner. It's us blog people. We're fucking weird!
We're sick. Something IS wrong with us! Why do we make this effort day in and day out? We're compelled to sit here and squeeze out content. I mean squeeze because it takes some real sack to get something out of us sometimes.
And then, you meet each other. Some are readers and others are writers and most of the time, we interact with the writers who are obviously disturbed. Are we satisfied? We must be because we write until we're exhausted, think till we're drained, plan till we're numb. In the end, it's very satisfying.
Then you have these fucking crooks who do nothing but throw up content all day. Content they steal from other sites. The only effort they make is copy, paste, translate, copy, paste, spin, copy, paste and submit. That takes up to five minutes maybe? They fan out into the internet and crowd accounts submitting junk.
How can these people still feel good about themselves when they do that? Is the anonymity of the internet so great that they can detach themselves from the crime? People like Jon Mark are 'on it', turning it around and reporting the crooks. Maybe it isn't enough but it's something.
And then you have others who don't know the rules of the internet and others who do, and it's a constant battle for facts against accusations for pay. Is this a hint into the workforce after the great crash?
There are trends and patterns everywhere, and they turn into such a mess sometimes that you just want to get away from. But you just can't. We mean, we can't. There's just so much stuff we have to say. Doesn't need to be said? Who gives two fucks, it's getting said and so here we are.
I've just looked at all the content generated on other services and realize how much work has to be done and it will get done; I'm just over-fucking-whelmed with it right now.
The weirdest thing about all of this is gaging the importance of what's being said and that's always changing. Thinking on those levels compels a person to think whether they should take the effort seriously or just have fun! We're likely to side with the latter. So let's do that, shall we!? Aside from the links in the text above, here are the rest of the updates since the last beat-down. Have a good weekend!
