Archie Bronson Outfit 'Coconut' (Domino)

A London 3-piece that swirls in punk-rock-visceral dance beats comes back after 4 year hiatus as contenders of rock. Witness the tribal beat down of 'Jab-Jab', or the sadistic stealthiness of 'Hoops'

Goldfrapp 'Head First' (Mute US)

Who is Goldfrapp for? With the opener and new single 'Rocket' I'm getting 80's Olivia Newton John synth that makes me want to throw on the sweatband but resisted. Okay, it's not what I expected but I know it's not my thing. How many Seventh Trees and Felt Mountains are mainstream listeners gonna take?

The great thing about Goldfrapp is how versatile they are.  They've proven this already, so now they can just meet their contract obligations and come out with another half-arsed pop album, I can respect that.

..eh

Dead Meadow 'Three Kings' (Xemu)

Psychedelia 70's Sabbath sound. First comparison I can make to what you may have listened to, if you aren't already a Dead Meadow fan, is when Dandy Warhols continuously exploit the sound to up their cool status, but these guys are the real deal.

The Courteeners 'Falcon' (Ume Imports)

These guys are intense. Very dramatic.. enough that it got Morrissey's attention and showers them with praise.  Synth heavy Manchester Brit-Rock.
