Today was spent doing one of the things I love the most, but when the lotion runs out... then it's time to go shopping for new music.  Here's some new releases (pun intended) that will warm 'the cockles'

Kinski
Down Below it's Chaos

Instrumental progressive rock n' roll and the southern rock influenced guitars making Kinski's latest one of their greatest.

The Mendoza Line
30 year low
The Mendoza Line wants to have a conversation.
'Let's sit down and have a chat, shall we?  'Aspect of an Old Maid' features Houston's own Will Sheff from Okkervil River... and this album oozes with great songs without the flash.  Old time swing style and beautifully humble pop.  I can visualize Kate Capshaw's opening dance number in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom getting replaced with Mendozas' 'Anything Goes', wonder what they'd be diving for when the bullets started flying... very nice.

Architecture in Helsinki

Places Like This

The rock world runs rampant with borrowed personalities. You can match up some of the vocal stylings with those of modest mouse, but 'Architecture in Helsinki' makes this all it's own. The impact of the album is subtle but stands well by itself; and before you know it you'll be singing along with 'Debbie' and 'Nothing's Wrong'
