Early this year I got the chance to see Ken Andrews at a kick ass goodbye tea room performance. From what I can remember, they played everything! from failure to on year of the rabbit to the solo stuff. on top of that, one of the band members got married. Well there is a new tour and his album is only available at the shows.
Last Defense - Year Of The Rabbit
Allison - Slowdive
Pride (Dead Oceans) - Phosphorescent
... waaaait for it... waaaait for it... and then.. POW! By the time track 3 comes, my eyes start welling up. The floors' embrace has never felt so good... just letting it all go... yea, am i being melodramatic? probably, but that's pretty much how this release got me. Where did it all go? How did i ever figure it all out? My Dove, My lamb sounds like the a railroad hymnal coming through town, brought to save us all. And the cocaine lights? I won't even tell you about the fucking cocaine lights!
Sounds like something that may be too depressing for your fragile soul, but it cleanses and probably the most beautiful record I'll be hearing for a loooong time!
