I was going through my daily blog reading and found a post by one of our local 'heroes', an avid supporter of the city's sub-culture (my term for it) where he talks about some asshole who thinks that Theater Workers should not be paid the same wage as people who work at Walmart or fast food joints.
Every time I hear or read shit like this, it gives me another reason to boil over. It goes to show how lazy people are to even make an effort and think about infrastructure using common sense.I want to go to a movie theater and see a movie right now! I wanna sit in cozy darkness with hot popcorn and 50 ounces of carbonated syrup and get lost in whatever is on the screen. Would I rather just walk in and get it all myself without paying anyone? FUCK YEAH! But I know that it isn't in the interest of the people that invested in that theater or those that made the fucking movie.I don't give a fuck what you say about the movie industry where it concerns finances. Dumb fucks are always talking about how American is out of money and we don't have the money for this or that, and how illegals are taking all the jobs and blah blah blah. If the film industry can drop loads of money into a flop like the Lone Ranger, and still invest into pressing billions of copies of it on disc for the rest of eternity than where's the money problem!?If I can write articles for someone overseas that is under a different currency and I can convert rupees to American currency than where's our money problem? If illegal immigrants that do the jobs you don't want to do can still get paid by people who think that little Johnny's rates up the street are too steep than where the fuck is this money problem you're talking about?Look around you 'FUCK MOOK!'The people at the movie theaters are there to make sure people pay to see the movie. As much as I love to go to the movies, I'm not gonna go work in a theater to clean it, make popcorn, change the syrup bag and police people for free! That's 8 - 10 hours of my day I'm not learning new masturbation techniques! The only way that this dude's logic makes sense is if people stopped going to the theaters. If we could get people to think more about shopping at Walmart and eating fast food on payday and not go to the movies, it would be perfect for this asshat. Eventually the movie industry would have to find some way of premiering their movies for the price they want through the Internet and into homes. It seems that we're on the way to that, but not because people hate the theaters -- it's because of convenience. When people walk into a theater, they're not so single minded to just be there to see a movie. They want stuff from concession stands and they will pay what they have to for the eating and watching experience. If some staff member makes a face at them, or doesn't shut someone up or have them removed because they ruined another customer's movie experience, or anything to make their experience less than what they paid for, than they have someone they can complain to, some management structure that can take care of the problem and those guys aren't there for free either.Don't you think that if people were doing this for free that they would give a shit about what the customer thinks? They'll half-ass their way through customer service because they aren't being paid enough to be there, you fucking dumbshit!Even if that person is fired, the company that hires these people has a reputation to maintain and they might as well pay more to have a happy staff with incentives to keep them there. So, they need these people who need to be paid just as well as the guardians who protect their investments. You dumb fucker.
