(Inquisitr) - In light of killing of two innocent black civilians by police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and St. Anthony, Minnesota; both incidents captured on video by smart phones, the Republican governor of North Carolina made another controversial move and signed a bill into law which prevents the public from gaining access to footage captured on police body cams, in order to defend the police department.

Those incidents caused Black Lives Matters protesters to organize and protest in cities nationwide when a gunman who took the message too far, opened fire on Dallas Police officers which fired up the debate among conservatives to attack Black Lives Matter as the reason why five police officers died.

Republicans widely believe that police officers should be respected and largely deflect the point that even aggressive officers are a problem, which is why many other states not just North Carolina, are also signing laws to protect their officers from public transparency.
