Drive-By Truckers 'Big To Do' (ATO)
A very down-to-earth band releases their latest rock stomp record with Southern pride that simply rocks. A little country swing and rock-a-billy-roll and Neil Young charged vocals... They recorded enough songs to get ready to release another one, maybe perhaps as soon as the end of this year? it's just their best album yet!

Harold Budd/Clive Wright 'Little Windows' (Darla)

The continuation of the series he started with Clive Wright continues here with the 3rd album since he's been signed to Darla in 2007. He's worked with many atmosphere/ambient/minimalist from Guthrie to Eno, and it's pretty apparent thus far that the Mojave has over taken him, from these albums. Budd claimed 3 albums ago that before 'Songs for Lost Blossoms' that he had said everything he needed to say in music, and with a statement so profound it seemed like it would have made Budd a bitter man but, his work with Clive Wright seems to be a new and fresh direction so far.. that we have three albums to this series. Sounds to me like he's got tons to say! Steel guitars and electronics that talk about the sands, the valleys, and all that western beauty.
