The Besnard Lakes 'Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night' (Jagjaguwar)

The 90's held a certain place in indie music for me, where the angst was present- but in a constant wash of lush noise that irritated that angst rather than clean it away. The end result is isolation.

Shoegaze was what surrounded me. The sound of an older generation gradually seeping into your subconscious, otherwise it would have been rejected for in your face punk rock.  I have to be honest, that even to this day, I'm still learning (i just started listening to Cocteau Twins, never really listened before.)

Not since Christian Death's 'Path Of Sorrows', have I felt so alone.. so thrown into small corners and threatened by the treacherous beat up my comatose pulse. This album, though quiet is dark and sinister.
