(Associated Press) - John Kerry's under secretary Tom Shannon is reportedly to meet with Venezuelan president Maduro in an attempt to help ease tensions between the U.S and Venezuela.

While the report by the AP says that John Kerry and Maduro met on the side at the signing of a peace agreement, between the FARC rebels and the Colombian government, another report by Reuters gives more details on their meeting, where it says that President Maduro referred to meeting on his hours long program Contacto Con Maduro, to say that Venezuela is entering into a new era of having a better relationship with the United States.
