What gives me any credibility in what I'm talking about here? How about the fact that I've been obsessed with the region since the late nineties and have friends from there. Which is a much bigger effort than the standard American has. Of course, back in 2001 - 2002, I was mistaken for a 'terrorist' due to my skin color and still, on occasion get unfavorable treatment. Yes, it's hard to tell a Mexican from an Middle Easterner (allow me to generalize).

Before I get all worked up about that, let me get to the point. If anyone has ever had any doubts as to whether the Kurds would have any problems with ISIL, let me put you at ease with this brief discussion I had with a friend of mine:

Yes, but I also know that there is tons of disinfo and that I could be getting my information wrong .Or could find out that something is so damned contradictory, like, say. funding the occupation, mass murder, expulsion and slow-starvation of Palestinians (Gaza is mount Sinjar in a way) and then somehow supporting Kurds? This play one against the other make me realize just how much propaganda is at play, so I am always trying to exercise critical thinking and consistency of ethics when I have made time to look into this (I should at least take coffee breaks to self-educate).

IF they are connected to the PKK; the screwed up thing is that the US and Europe as labeled the PKK as a terrorist organization. I still remember the capture of Ocalan when I was a teen.

But we're not talking about internal conflicts here. It's reasonable to believe that Iraqis and the world agree that Maliki -- along with ISIL, should be the fuck gone! (It was just a matter of time before the Kurds got tested)
