"Harris Yulin Dies and Hoffman's Statement Subconsciously Reveals Why"

Harris Yulin

Harris Yulin

Wow.

My response to this news is, "whoa, it's that guy!"

Yes, that's generally the response no doubt from everyone when learning that this well-known, "that guy" actor has died.

The most recent thing I would have seen him is based on my order of viewings, more recently Scarface. I saw 24 and though I've seen Ghostbusters II, I don't remember him from it.

According to reports, he was about to co-star in Michael Hoffman's American Classic with Kevin Kline and Laura Linney.

I don't know much of Michael Hoffman's work other than to say that it looks pretty luke warm to me with A Midsummer Night's Dream, One Fine Day, and Amy Winehouse

I'm sure those movies are fine but I don't get the feeling that they made a big impact or at least for very long.

Michael Hoffman Misspeaks in Statement about Harris Yulin's Death

I want to make it clear that Harris Yulin reportedly died of cardiac arrest on June 10.

Knowing that, here's the statement Hoffman made about Yulin's death:

"Harris Yulin was very simply one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered. His marriage of immense technique with an always fresh sense of discovery gave his work an immediacy and vitality and purity I've experienced nowhere else. And what he was as an actor, he was as a man, the grace, the humility, the generosity. All of us at 'American Classic' have been blessed by our experience with him. He will always remain the beating heart of our show."

 Really?

The "beating heart" right after we know that his death was related to a heart that stopped beating.

I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose as people subconsciously say things like this after someone dies.
