So distressing to read this news.
King of the Hill was not a show that I kept up with but decided it might be time since it's coming back.
Mostly because, for some reason, I was craving animated dramas with good stories.
From what I'd seen in of King of the Hill, Mike Judge could deliver that in this series.
How odd that such a thing could happen to someone formerly from a show that's about to make a big comeback and be the subject of the complete opposite of such good news.
Over the years, we've lost Brittany Murphy (Luanne Platter, Joseph Gribble), David Carradine (Junichiro), Johnny Hardwick (Dale Gribble), and Tom Petty (Lucky Kleinschmidt.)

John Redcorn Not Returning To New Season?
What's also interesting is that Joss is not listed as coming back to the revival series.
For an animated series, the fact that they would write in a character, John Redcorn, with having an affair in the show is kind of break through.
If you go back far enough, he took over the role from Victor Aaron who also died tragically.
If it wasn't enough that he was gunned down this weekend, it looks like he hard already been "shut out" from appearing in the revival?
His Facebook post in late April revealed that he was not invited to the King of the Hill event but would show up anyway.

Ongoing Tragedies and Hardship
Another article however, says that Joss did start recording for the new season.
In his last Instagram post before he died, he mentions that the reboot is "up and going" but says little else about returning.
In a sad state of affairs, it looked like a lot of issues were piling up on him.
As mentioned in his Facebook post, his house burned down and he lost about everything.
When you go back to his husband Tristan's Facebook post, he says that after ongoing threats from the neighbors that they were going to burn down his house, the did and referred to it as a hate crime.
Just as tragic, is what he says about the skull of one his their dogs placed out front of their home, when they went to retrieve mail.
