Almost Tuesday and we're only just learning that Dave Mason, the co-founder and singer of Traffic has passed away at 79.

I was just thinking about Traffic in recent weeks when I heard a track from someone's playlist. I wasn't sure if it was them but my ears perked up like a cat when I heard it.

His family released the following statement via Rolling Stone:

“On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dave Mason. Dave Mason lived a remarkable life devoted to the music and people he loved.”

Here's another recent loss:

“Patrick Muldoon Dead at 57”
Actor Patrick Muldoon, best known for Starship Troopers, has died of a heart attack at 57. With several films still in the pipeline including Dirty Hands alongside Denise Richards, his final completed role remains a bittersweet footnote.

My Brief Moment with Traffic

While "Feelin' Alright?" is lauded as their biggest hit, the one I remember is "Dear, Mr. Fantasy".

Traffic captures the sound of the seventies with organ groove, deep bass and sometimes they would bring in that flute that gave a more British feel. They weren't afraid to bring in those horns in later releases.
