Wow! This one is intense! The latest from this Milwaukee band, and available on limited edition wax. Check this one out for yourselves and let us know in the comments what you think!

I reached out to the band with some questions about this release. I didn't get the name of the band member who responded so for the time being, they're identified as Pig's Blood.

Pig's Blood 'Destroying the Spirit': An Interview

Zoe Dune: Congratulations on your first release under the Dark Descent Records label! How has the journey been since your 16-year old self-released demo debut?

Pig's Blood: I do not understand? We were all older than 16 when the demo came out.

Dune: Wow! What an intense record! While labels are limiting, I see the WarMetal tag making sense judging from Alex Shadrin's album art. As a question in the form of a statement, war does tend to destroy the spirit.

Blood: Wow. I also do not understand this question, we are often lumped in with war metal or bestial metal etc - I think we sound different than that though, we just like to make music we like and want it to sound evil.

We support Soundcloud for it's support of independent artists!

Dune: Looks like you worked with artist Alex Shadrin from Russia? What was the conversation with him on the artwork? This is the first release where the cover art is more intense than before.

Blood: It was a quick and professional conversation.

Dune: What was your technical approach to Destroying the Spirit as opposed to 'Pig's Blood' and 'A Flock Slaughtered'?

Blood: Some different players on the new record brought a new sound, it all goes through the PB standards though making it fresh but cohesive to past material.

Dune: What was the decision around choosing "Strikeforce of Isolate Will" as this album's single?

Blood: We like that one and thought it would be a good song to represent the record.

Dune: Why that one?

Blood: Already told you.

Dune: Would you say this is a conceptual album?

Blood: No.

Dune: What is the messaging?

Blood: Fuck you.

Dune: Also, can you speak a bit about the Milwaukee scene?

Blood: It's ok, we have a lot of friends here and there are some good bands. There are also a bunch of horrible bands as well.

Dune: Finally, what's your rider request?

Blood: Beer & Whiskey - a lot of it.
